My obsession for essential oils and their beautiful healing properties has recently been reignited thanks to my lovely mentor, and new friend, Steph from dōTERRA. I find myself talking about them constantly. By incorporating the oils into my daily life, it has sparked interest and curiosity in those around me.
To start, essential oils are natural aromatic compounds cold pressed or steam distilled from stems, leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, and other parts of plants. They can be used as physical and emotional wellness tools and may assist with healthy immune support.
The main questions I’m getting recently are when and how to use them…
Step 1 ⇒ Obtaining a few oils of your own.
Step 2 ⇒ Teaching yourself how to use them.
Even after handing out the little essential oil guide booklet, which lists specific ailments (bug bite, sore throat, etc.) and which oils to apply, I notice I’m still getting lots of questions. I find that the self-learning involved in incorporating oils into daily life or in specific times of need is the biggest block for people. Our lives are busy enough and when something goes wrong, rather than looking up what oil to use and how, we want an immediate fix, we want to already know.
There are tons of ways to use the oils, which understandably can be a bit overwhelming at first. Don’t let that stop you, learning to incorporate them is worth every drop! A few common ways include: aromatically, topically, internally, in recipes, beauty care, crafts, etc. Like I mentioned, I think once you have the oils, the hardest part is teaching yourself how and when to use them. So I’d like to break it down for you and enlighten myself to new information along the way.
Each month, I’m going to select one oil to focus on. Once a week, I will post something about the oil including: the benefits both physical and emotional, different ways to use the oil (aromatically, topically, internally), and DIY recipie ideas for health, beauty, household, etc.
Excited to enhance my essential oil knowledge and usage all while spreading the scent-sational vibrations of these aromatic compounds sourced directly from our Earth.
This month’s oil of choice & one of my first personal favorites: Wild Orange
Stay tuned for the next post this week all about Wild Orange Oil and how it can benefit you! ♥
